Longest Day Yet

Today we accidentally went 44 miles and it was a confusing 44 miles. First, because of signs and second because the campground we were going to didn’t exist.
But it wasn’t just our family that was misdirected to the campground, it was also a German family. We ended up biking with them for the last ten miles of the ride.

All through this, Ruby kept saying, “I really don’t think that this campground exists.” She was right!

I mean, just look at these signs! There are two signs going to the same place and three signs for EV 15 that we are following.

We hit our 900-mile mark!

During lunch, we got to watch nesting storks. They were so still that we thought they were artificial at first.

When we finally got to the campground, Mommy went to the girls’ bathroom and saw these super helpful signs. “I wouldn’t have known how to use the bathroom without them,” said Mommy.

  1. Ha ha ha ha!!! Love the bathroom signs! Must be for folks from India---Gma and Gpa Wild had an exchange student who used the #6 position. Telltale black footprints on the seat . Great entry, Lyle and Ruby. So cool about the storks!
44 miles is a huge day!

  3. Wow! Very impressive... that you, Lyle and Ruby, are learning to tell the 'falsche sitzpositionen' from the 'richties sitzpositionen'. Excellent! Stuff you should know. And the use of the
ganz ... gotta know falsch from richtig and the fast uses too.
Amazing you made 44 miles. That is a long day on the bikes. Thanks for telling us all about your day. Was the German family on tandems?

  4. That's a lot of miles! Even more kilometers! Bet you're getting good at converting units and judging distance, like 44 miles is a pretty long way to bike in one day.
